Rugby 7’s provides a vast range of entertainment, featuring some of the fastest, fittest, most skilful, and most powerful people on the planet. This commercialised version of Rugby Union involves 7 players on each team, rather than the 15, therefore making the sport quick, exciting and higher scoring.

Unlike normal Rugby Union, which consists of 80-minute games, a Rugby 7’s match is shortened to two halves of seven minutes, with a one-minute half-time break. This allows for matches to be played in one day, which provides a full day of entertainment with a diverse range of countries competing. This is why Rugby 7’s attracts international crowds from all over the world supporting their home countries. So with a full day of entertainment, crowds, sun, and thousands cheering for there country, what else is there to do but drink, watch, and party!!?

Top 3 destinations:

1) Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Sevens is famous for its hot weather, day drinking parties, and crazy outfits. Due to its cultural diversity, supporters go all out on fancy dress, especially the many big groups who have travelled from their home countries to cheer their team on. We definitely recommend hitting up ‘Lan Kwai Fong’, a street made for eating, drinking and partying!

Check out this link for ‘Lan Kwai Fong’ – http://www.lkfe.com/en/home.html
Check out the link for more details – http://www.hksevens.com/

2) Dubai Sevens

This is the place to go for a mixture of sun, beach, party and rugby. Much like Hong Kong Sevens, thousands of supporters travel to Dubai for this legendary event. There is also a famous after party at ‘Domeland Night Club’, by Chi, where buses are provided from the stadium right to the club doorstep.

Check out the after party on the following link -
http://dubai.platinumlist.net/nightlife/event/8373/RUGBY-7_S-OFFICIAL-AFTER-PARTY

3) Twickenham Sevens

Number 3 on our list gives you sevens at its best, in UK’s party capital. Twickenham Sevens encompasses a LAD drinking culture like no other. A full day of partying followed by a serious night at ‘Embargo’ on Kings Road. This weekend is one to remember, or not to remember if you know what I mean! Cheerleaders come out in full force, dancing to classic tunes all day, and after match shows also take place throughout the day, this is not to be missed!

We have identified three of our favourite weekend getaways. Whether you want blistering sunshine, gourmet restaurants, or all day sport we think you can find it here.
Enjoy!

Salcombe

This resort known as Chelsea-on-Sea, is a highly popular weekend get-away for many Londoners. This south Devon resort, the home of Jack Wills, has loads of old fashioned seaside pubs to pass the time. Our pick of the bunch being, The Ferry Inn.

As you can see from the picture if you are a fan of sailing this is the place to do it, or if sailing is all a bit too much we suggest a walk round Whitestrand http://www.whitestrandboathire.co.uk/ to try out one of the mini speed boats for hire.

Ibiza

Apart from the obvious parties and nightclubs there is a lot to see around the island. The old town of Ibiza called Dalt Vila, meaning ‘upper town’ is lovely to explore during the day. Follow the narrow, winding cobbled streets, admiring Gothic Catalan buildings as you go. The streets meander up towards the 14th century cathedral at the top.

After all the sightseeing adventures the inevitable happens and it’s time to hit a party! Although not the coolest of the Island’s clubs Pacha remains one of the main attractions. Our pick of the nights would be Thursday with David Guetta playing his residency along with his celeb friends such as Alesso, and Dizzee Rascal making appearances the Thursday is not to be missed. If you are feeling a bit punchy we recommend getting a table in the VIP where you will be lead through the Kitchen like a world famous celebrity.

Vale do lobo

Although Vale Do Lobo has a reputation for being quite young we feel this is an amazing choice for some early year sunshine. Being just a 15 minute cab from Faro airport makes it a relatively stress free journey.

With numerous beach bars dotted along the coast, these provide the perfect place to spend an afternoon drinking Rose and eating fresh fish in the sun. Of all the many beautiful beach bars we recommend the famous BJ’s http://bjsoceanside.com/.

Golf is at the heart of Vale Do Lobo. The resort has seen the world’s best golfers and most famous celebrities play these stunning courses. With a number of Tennis academies as well it’s a great mixture of sport and relaxation.

Fine dining is at your finger tips in Vale Do Lobo with an abundance of top restaurants and one even boasting a Michelin… although it doesn’t have a Michelin star Parrilla Natural http://www.parrillanatural.com is our favourite with delicious Argentinean Steaks, and incredible open air dining.

There is late night drinking if you want it. Our recommendation would be T Clube http://tclube.com/ in neighbouring Quinta do Lago.

Hub London prides itself on hosting one of the best Thursday nights in London at Dukebox which is renowned for its fabulous sharing drinks, one of which is The Egg and Soldiers Cocktail!
The world famous Mahiki Treasure Chest is next in our list of top sharing cocktails! The treasure chest has been in the spotlight almost every time Mahiki get into the tabloids! The Treasure Chest serves 8 people and is made up of Brandy and Peach Liquor shaken with Lime on a base of Mahiki Grog (fresh fruit) and finished off with a bottle of Moet Champagne which gives the effect that smoke is coming out of the chest! Looking at this picture alone makes me thirsty for one!

The Watering Can @ The Roof Gardens Kensington

This Watering Can Champagne Cocktail comes in many different flavours, but the most popular by some distance is ‘Strawberry Fields’. This is made up of Grey Goose Vodka, Grand Marnier, Cranberry juice, Fresh Strawberries and Basil on a base of Gran Marnier soaked Strawberries topped up with a bottle of Beaumet Brut Champagne. This will serve up to 8 people comfortably and is genuinely delicious, the question you need to ask yourself is; how do you feel walking round a club drinking out of a big watering can? If you fancy one of these delicious drinks why not stick yourself on our guest list at Kensington Roof Gardens any weekend!

This Friday HUB launches its new signature Friday at 3, No.3, 3 Cromwell… however you want to say it, it’s working for us in a big way.

Brought to you from the directors of dearly missed PUBLIC and current fav DUKEBOX, 3 is officially the new hot spot and already gracing the tabloids daily for its celebrity friends and regulars.

The bar, restaurant and club situated in a three story Georgian townhouse which now dominates the old DORSIA venue offers something for everyone.

Co designed by artist Alex Hall, the venue is awash with quirky neons with a nod to The Great Gatsby, opulent chandeliers, fireplaces and Andrew Martin furniture. The Drawing Room serves a menu headed by steak frittes, in a funky but chilled atmosphere created by the resident piano man, Tom Ashbrook.

The Back Room is an apothecary styled speakeasy with a large, sultry smoking garden. The evening begins with cocktails and live music, then kicks off as the night progresses until 3am with the most unique and unexpected lighting extravaganza.

The Basement is a box of amazing sound and light where thumping tunes are hammered out until 3am. Table service, sharing cocktails and oversized bottles are the name of the game.

Following in the footsteps of Jimi Hendrix, 3 ½ Men will kick off our Friday night Launch in style from 8.30pm, with complimentary cocktails for our HUB guests. The night continues with the amazing pianist and DJ Hunter Phillips taking us through to 3am. We highly recommend you come and check out this fab venue for yourself and avoid missing out on an amazing party of course!

Hub guests are free before 10pm, between 10pm & 11pm it is £10 and after 11pm it is £15. Get in touch at info@hub-london.com for guest list and tables.

HUB have long known how crucial and integral some good Après ski is to a winning Ski trip…however we are far from alone in this thinking, après ski is becoming more and more important every year with the discerning British skier/boarder. Why be satisfied with simply miles of piste and charming accommodation? We want the whole package, preferably including top notch food, ski in/ski out, outdoor hot tub (crucial) and most importantly GOOD Après.

We can’t be the first to tell you that Austria is now where it’s at, consistently topping the best après ski lists. Yet year after year we show somewhat obsessive loyalty with the standard resorts of the Tarentaise, such as Val d’Isere, Meribel & Les Arcs – and never venture anywhere else, justified by telling ourselves it’s all about the kilometers of piste statistics.

Size doesn’t matter — It’s what you do with it.

It’s not the miles of piste that count but the quality of the mileage and the management of all the terrain inside the boundaries that matters to the discerning. Whistler is consistently named as the best resort in the world and is the largest in North America with 8,100 skiable acres which is less than a third of the Espace Killy and a quarter of Les Trois Vallées.

No discredit to the increasingly camp folie douche, we will dance on those tables any day but we put it to you to try somewhere new next season, you won’t regret it! See below a run down of our top three Apres resorts for the 2013/14 season.

St Anton, Austria

How many places in the world can you mention a bar name and people can tell you exactly where it is? Not too many, we would guess. What about having two world famous bars? Mooserwirt and Krazy Kanguruh – do we need to say anymore? For those not in the know, these are two bars on the side of the slopes in St Anton, both of which are a bit of a ski down into the base village. They often divide people on their choice of favourites. The Krazy Kanguruh starts happy hour from 3:30pm, with a packed deck and blaring music. Our own favourite is the Mooserwirt – disco lights, Austrian Euro pop, smoke machines and the best table service (you never queue at the bar, you are never without a drink!!) Amazing atmosphere wherever you are, the packed deck or dancing on a table inside – GO!

Whistler, Canada

What? Canada has après ski? yeah it does. As you ski back into Whistler Village, you can see Longhorn Saloon’s huge deck brimming with people and pitchers. Plonk your skis up on a rack and you can always head up to GLC (Garibaldi Lift Company) who no longer make lifts but do pour a great pint . Over in Blackcomb Village? Not to worry Merlins is right at the base. We don’t need to tell you where you’ll see it and hear it when you ski down. You can then follow the night on in one of the plethora of pubs, bars and clubs.

Ischgl, Austria

Ischgl, like so many of the Austrian resorts, know how to make a ski holiday something to remember. After pounding your way through some monumentally impressive snow, it’s time to head on to the bars. Trofana Alm has live music and not much space, after all the revellers pack in to dance to a delicious slice of Europop. Schatzi, next to the Hotel Elizabeth, offers an interesting take on the traditional dirndl. The crowded Kuhstall has a great atmosphere and a DJ on hand to play plenty of Austrian classics. Enjoy a long stick of schnapps with friends and wash it all down with a few beers. Rihanna, P!nk, Kylie, Elton John, Pussycat Dolls, Mariah Carey are just a few of the big names over the years to have graced the Top of the Mountain opening and closing parties in Ischgl.

After the monumental success of Dukebox HUB LONDON are very excited to hear about the next project of our favourite club owner Howard Spooner, the mastermind behind Public and Dukebox.

The wait is over! 3 Cromwell Road, a new bar, restaurant and club situated in a three storey Georgian townhouse overlooking South Kensington’s Natural History Museum is opening its doors in late March 2013.

3 Cromwell Road, which was formally Dorsia, was a favourite with Hub London every Friday and we are looking forward to picking up where we left off.

After hearing the Top Secret plans for this venue, we are adamant this will soon become THE place to be in South Kensington.

Here is a teaser video to get your juices flowing.

There has been a certain void in the lives of the Chelsea set since Public closed its doors back in May due to complaints of certain people (us) having too much fun, so as soon as the PUBLIC team had upped and moved to the new and more intimate venue, DUKEBOX, HUB London were all over it.

Occupying the former space of the Valmont club just off Fulham Road you’ll find the new box of tricks and HUB London’s new signature THURSDAY night soiree. We dipped our toe with a one-off Halloween special last year and it was such a success that we have made the adult playground our weekly hotspot.

Each Thursday night the HUB team will be guiding you through the heavily guarded doors of the most beautiful hostesses and down the stairs where a truly mesmerising Chelsea playground awaits. Since our launch a few weeks ago we can’t remember a better, more fantastic party!

What can you expect? Only the most beautiful and glamorous guests – from Made in Chelsea cast members to young royals – some spectacular dance floor shapes and damn good DJ’s.

And breathe…

SAX MAN extraordinaire, the amazing military uniforms of the bar staff, jack in the boxes in cages and waltzer car booths. The drinks are just as playful from their innovative ‘Egg and Soldier’ sharer cocktail to ‘The Present’ which of course comes wrapped in a bow and is delivered to its own theme tune by the military parade. There’s also plenty of confetti and sparklers to make a truly awesome spectacle.

This really is not only the perfect Public replacement, but the perfect HUB Thursday night replacement.

To experience the edgy fairy tale for yourself get in touch at info@hub-london.com, or click here for tonight’s guest list. Bookings of 15+ receive a special treat on us.

Pop goes the Weasel.
